The corner of war and peace

What exactly do you define as peace?
or what do you consider is war?

here's the story of a boy,
a boy whom fought for his dreams
but wound up hurt and lost.
A boy who has lost all motivation

he wanted peace but no one knew,
that kind of peace that he longed for,
can be provided.

he knew something was wrong,
he swore he started out at the wrong foot,
but he persevered,
he drove on thinking that mistakes
could be corrected if he walked tall.

he is at war with his mind
and his heart is not an ally.
in this battle, he took sides with his heart,
he tried his best to win this war.
yet again, he realised that
this war, could not be won,
his heart has betrayed him.

he was blind, he was blinded by
his lust for peace in his soul.
who could blame him?
everyone wants a better life.

it was a cold night, the rain was
pouring. he saw and witness the
struggles of a soul,
he was told to keep her warm.
he should have minded his business.
but his desire for humane touch
and his heart, brought him warm.

he allowed himself to be immersed
in the warmth of a beating heart,
the warmth his heart could not give.
this feeling so great, his mind was
clogged.

the rain miraculously ceased,
he then heard voices of his fears,
he had failed to remove them.
he was crashing, he wanted to run
this time, for real, he had to run,
to a place where no one could find him
and he had left in a heartbeat,
without so much of a word,
his shillouette would soon disappear.

"She calls out to the man on the street,
'sir can you help me?
It's cold and i've nowhere to sleep
is there someplace you can tell me?'
He walks on, doesn't look back
he pretends he can't hear her.
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
seems embaressed to be there."
